INTERIGHTS announces appointment of John Wadham as Executive Director

INTERIGHTS' Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of human rights lawyer John Wadham as its new Executive Director.

John Wadham said:

“Law is a powerful tool in the protection of human rights and so I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead INTERIGHTS. I am looking forward to working with the staff team to ensure we remain at the forefront of international human rights litigation.”

Jeremy McBride, Chair of INTERIGHTS' Board, said:

“One of our most important roles as a Board is to select the right leader for the organisation. We are delighted by this appointment and have no doubt that John’s skills, insight and experience will further enhance the impact of our work. We look forward to working with John as INTERIGHTS enters its fourth decade.”

John comes to INTERIGHTS from the Equality and Human Rights Commission where he served as General Counsel. A qualified solicitor, he has also held the posts of Deputy Chair of the Independent Police Complaints Commission and Director of the human rights NGO Liberty.

John will take up the post in February 2013.
