BBC: Sudan president accused of war crimes

Sudan's president has been accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. Luis Moreno-Ocampo told judges at The Hague that Omar al-Bashir bore criminal responsibility for alleged atrocities committed over the past five years.

Arab-American News: State Secret Privilege Derails Rendition Suit

A Syrian-born Canadian has again been denied the right to appear in court following his 'rendition' by US authorities to Syria after he was detained on suspicion of being a terrorist in September 2002. A federal court of appeals ruled that the lawsuit brought by Mr Arar against former Attorney General John Ashcroft and others could not be heard due to the "state secrets" privilege.
